Hero In Doubt
Jun 22, 2009
Part punk dance, part mental breakdown I was attempting to build a sense of learned helplessness here the hero is trying his best but the bad guy is just too bad… I would use as a desperate battle theme for a specific battle or boss. I also tried to fit in a 5/4 metal core breakdown toward the end while still maintaining the video game sound. I KNOW I KNOW. Why midi!? Well, I like the SNES sound and I tried my best to hide the GM texture.

This would be the looping title screen music. On an arcade system the [PRESS START] screen might stay up for length of the song, then show high scores, then company credits, and then start over until the player inserts enough credits to play. High energy and changing mood would intrigue someone to stop and play the game, I can imagine.
Da Boss

Rockin’ Boss Battle Music. Modeled after FF7’s, with its triplet feel and electric guitar riffs. I tried to make it more contemporary later in the song, if there is such thing as later in a short song like this. But altogether I am fairly happy with the way everything works together. (Gotta love those ride cymbals.)

Racing game opening theme. No Doubt. This was the first Song I ever made where I knew what I was doing with music theory and such. This is still my favorite song I’ve made and will probably continue to be, and its entirely because of the hook in the middle and end. I know the guitars may overpower one another but after an hour of mixing this is the best I could do. It is a very rockin’ song with complementing synths and guitars and I am excited to upload it onto Sakari.
